Blog 9: Evaluation of blog Experience

Imagen
Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce to to... to the end? I guess it's over... Well, apparently this is the last blog in this series. I honestly enjoyed writing these blogs because I like to write and I feel it helped me to expand my boundaries, now writing in English. The truth is that I was initially able to adapt in online classes. I couldn't make it to the classes, I felt uncomfortable and I was uncertain about the future. But as the days went by, I began to get used to this system, although it will never get past the on-site classes. This method of learning through blogs, I feel it was quite enjoyable to develop English. And I feel that the topics touched upon were quite well thought out. Now thinking that other topics could have been touched on the blogs it could have been Favorite TV Series, Favorite Book and Favorite Video Game. Being the fastest, The Sopranos was the best I could find in the Quarantine (after David Bo...

Blog 8: The subject I enjoyed this semester

What is the relationship between a fish, Bodoque and Tío Aceite? Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce to subject of Urban Sostenibility. In Urban Sostenibility we see about the lifestyle that the city lives and its consequences. For the first exercise, it consisted of researching an ecological imaginary that we think helps us as a society, but what it actually does is more harm than good. The birth control pill was a revolution for mankind, but what we didn't know is that it makes fish infertile. This happens because women release hormones through urine. Well, now imagine that concept and apply it in a green note by Juan Carlos Bodoque and we get the explanatory video as a commission. Bodoque knows the people in bikini bottoms and they tell him about the problems they have. Bodoque teaches people how wrong it is to consume fish. Welly, welly, welly, well, that was a job we laughed at quite a bit in the p...

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce to my favourite Architecure. Neighborhood Unit Villa Portales, Quinta Normal Fernando was born in 1919, studied architecture at the PUC, in 1964 Eduardo Frei Montalva appointed him as Mayor of the nascent commune of La Reina. He was the rector of the PUC from 1967 to 1973 He fought against the Pinochet Dictatorship. In the 1990s, he was elected mayor three times in a row. His most acclaimed work is the  Neighborhood Unit  Villa Portales. Designed in conjunction with the Architectural Studio BVCH (Bresciani, Valdés, Castillo, Huidobro). This complex was a revolution in Chile, never had been built so ambitiously for the middle class and ended up being a good example of Modern Architecture in Latin America. During his first mandate in La Reina (in the 60's) he worked with the villagers making from scratch the houses of all the neighbours, they all worked together. And that is something I...

Blog 6: Favorite Movie

Imagen
Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce to my favorite movie. Well, actually I have some favorite movies, which are on this podium: A Clockwork Orange, The Lord of the Ring The Return of the King, Life of Pi, Koyaanisqatsi and Schindler´s List. But if I had to pick just one feed, it would be Schindler's List. Well, I just saw this movie last summer and now in quarantine I've seen it like 3 or 4 times. This film tells the story of Oskar Schindler, how he went from being a frivolous businessman to becoming a true hero, willing to lose all his money to save the Jews. It is a very long film, at the beginning it is a bit slow, but in the development of the middle it becomes very intense and the end is one of the best of the film.  There is no need to mention the crudeness and horror that the narrative becomes when the antagonist appears. Nazi officer Amon Göth, the living image of the madness and evil of war Without a doubt, Osk...

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce to last year's Halloween night. In my group of school friends we started organizing to go out in costume. The idea was to work out that same day the costume to wear at night. Well, since I had a lot of carton piled up to make models in my house, I started to get rid of a lot of it. The first thing that came to my mind was to make a Minecraft suit xD, so let's get to work! Once the pieces of the suit were finished, they came to pick me up in a car (because there were many pieces) and one of my friends brought a gray can to paint the suit. We arrived at my friend's house and began to characterize ourselves. And this was the result: From left to right: Lepe (Dressed as Kratos), Yiyo (Dressed as a random person from the 70's), Me and Pozo (Dressed as Anonymous) Pozo's mom took the picture, she was laughing her head off I like this picture because it makes me remember good times wit...

Blog 4: Music

Imagen
Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce to my favourite (Boomer) Music Maybe if you asked the Bastian from 13 to 16, he'd answer Queen, because it was the only thing I heard. But one day in a record store, the salesman convinced me that variety is in the taste and from that moment on I try to discover music daily. As I was already handling Rock, I looked for different bands and fell in love with Pink Floyd and found the world of Progressive Rock.  And answering the question, I really like Progressive Rock because it takes its time to generate such an exquisite musical atmosphere, which makes me feel in another world, there are also other songs that are quite lively and with a very crazy rhythm! I'm spreading out a lot, so, here are about 7 Artists/Bands (This is a not a top) that I enjoy listening to a lot. - David Bowie, Golden Years from Station To Station (1976) In David Bowie's Great Multiverse Musical, a new character...

Blog 3: My favorite piece of technology

Imagen
Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to Hideout of Bastian and let me introduce my favourite object of technology. Well tecnally is not a object, is a concept but... yeah okey, it´s not a object but in the end will be understood. When i haved maybe 10 years or 12, i don´t remember with exactly the year. I was so tired of listen music in a cheap mp3 (Chinese brand, sorny or sansun, you know, pirated brand) and bought a Mp4 a Macrotel brand with my money (Grandma's Sunday money, I love you Grandma). Years later I lose my mp4, and i´m upset because I listen music in grand part of the day. On a birthday (Maybe 13 years old) my family bought a Philips Mp4 (I´m happy :D). But... That Mp4 died in 2018, and again i´m upset, replace Arauco by Bastian and Arauco has a Sorrow (Great cover of Los Jaivas). Seriusly the life are boring without music. Well, my sister give me her old Iphone and my soul came back to earth. The last year I Changed that ''Mp4'' for my Old Smartphone, ...
